Programme Description

The Doctor's companions - Ben and Polly - have just witnessed a strange thing: The Doctor's whole body changed and became younger whilst they were watching. When he recovers both Ben and Polly are not sure who it is they see before them.

The TARDIS lands on the planet Vulcan, and the Doctor comes across the body of a dead Earth examiner who was summoned by Deputy Governor Quinn. Taking the examiner's badge the Doctor is believed to be the Earth examiner and is given free access to the colony.

A scientist, Lesterson, found a crashed space capsule, and inside found three deactivated Daleks. No-one heeds the Doctor's warnings as the Daleks are re-awoken.

The Daleks claim to be the colonists' servants, but secretly they have started up a manufacturing plant. The Doctor discovers this and uses the colony's power source to destroy the Daleks.
