Programme Description

The TARDIS materialises in Scotland, 1746 during the aftermath of the battle of Culloden. The Doctor attends to the wounds of the Highlanders' Laird, Colin McLaren.

While the Laird's daughter, Kirsty, and Polly go to fetch water the others are captured by the Redcoats under the command of Lieutenant Algernon Ffinch. Grey, a slave trader, takes the group into his custody.

The Doctor manages to escape, and begins to arm the Highlanders who are being held on board the stolen ship the Annabelle. The ship's captain, Trask, along with Grey, are overpowered and the ship is returned to its rightful owner, MacKay.

MacKay agrees to take the Scots to safety in France. The TARDIS de-materialises with a new member, a young piper named Jamie.
