Programme Description

The TARDIS is hijacked by a time-sensitive Tharil, Biroc. Other Tharils are being held on board the Privateer, captained by Rorvik, that is trapped in the void.

The only other thing inside the void is a stone gateway which leads into a banqueting hall. This is the domain of the Tharils. The Tharils were once rulers of a vast empire, but their human slaves built the Gundan robots which killed the Tharils.

Romana is taken prisoner by Captain Rorvik, but is later freed by one of the Tharils, Lazlo. Captain Rorvik plans to blast his way out of the void. The blast from the engines is reflected by the mirrors of the gateway which shatters the hull, freeing the Tharils.

The Tharils return to E-space with Romana and K-9 whilst the Doctor and Adric, inside the TARDIS, are blown back into N-space.
