Programme Description

The Doctor and Peri land in London, 1985, after receiving a distress call. It turns out that Lytton, who the Doctor last encountered working with the Daleks, was the sender, and he appears to be working for new masters - the Cybermen. The Doctor and Peri are ordered by Lytton to take him to the Cybermens' home planet Telos.

The Cybermen have no time travel facilities of their own, but they have captured a time vessel and are planning to use it to return to 1985 and destroy, or severely weaken, Earth by crashing Halley's Comet to ensure their infamous plans of 1986.

Aided by the Cryons the Doctor manages to destroy the Cyberbase, and Cybercontroller.

Bloopers and Mistakes

In the fight scene between the Doctor and the Cybercontroller the carpet on the studio floor (under the central console) gets kicked up and rather badly creased.

When Lytton stabs the CyberController his blood gets splashed onto the camera lens.

Notes and Trivia

This whole of this season consists of 45 minute episodes, as pioneered with Resurrection of the Daleks.

For this story and Revelation of the Daleks the writer credit is in upper case characters, unlike other crediting for every other use of this title sequence.
